I haven't posted on here in a while about my job search for a teaching position, so I figured I'd give an update. I've had 6 interviews so far and am hoping to have more. I've heard back from all the schools except one, which re-opened the position and started interviewing more applicants, so I am pretty sure they didn't hire me. I had a phone interview this past week and didn't meet the requirements of the position, but the principal emailed me back and told me another position may be opening up soon that I do meet the requirements for. I remain hopeful that she will be the one to hire me.
Meanwhile, teachers in one district I am applying in report Aug 1st and teachers in the other district I am applying in report Aug 13th. I guess there is still plenty of time for schools to hire for the upcoming school year. We're only entering the second week of July.
The good thing is I haven't had to take any days off for interviews while there are people at my current job on vacation. My boss asked me how my job search was going and I just told her "eh, we'll see what happens". I've decided to keep the remainder of my job search to myself and not tell my boss anything else about it. I am hoping to be able to schedule interview around 7am so I could interview and still make it to work on time.
